World Vision has been working in South Sudan since the country's birth in Previously to that, World Vision had been operating in the area sincewhen it expanded its operations from the north of Sudan.
The COP will be responsible for the overall management and representation of the activity. For management, the COP must have proven leadership skills managing projects of a similar size and scope in developing countries. The COP should have demonstrated experience recruiting, developing, and managing staff, as well as experience managing programmatic and financial reporting. The Chief of Party CoP will serve as the principal institutional liaison to the donor and local government entities.
The CoP shall have a keen understanding of the unique political dynamics and work collaboratively to support the various entities in Yambio South Sudan. The CoP is expected to have strong leadership qualities and management expertise. Direct and oversee program implementation, ensuring that all strategic objectives are met through proper design, staffing, implementation and quality assurance.
Ensure appropriate project quality support to consortium members through purpose leads. Oversee that bottlenecks and challenges to project impact are addressed at various levels of stakeholders using forums such as Technical Working Groups, General Body Meetings and meetings with consortium member project managers. In collaboration with partners' Project Managers, design and facilitate regular project learning events with consortium partners and other key stakeholders, ensuring that lessons of sound practice are documented and disseminated through project implementation and review.
Supervise a team of senior level international and national staff with skills across a diverse set of technical areas.
Establish and maintain effective project reporting, evaluation, and communication systems. Submit timely accurate and professional reports that meet donor requirements. Ensure program budget is managed within approved spending levels and ensure accurate and timely financial reports to donors and Support Office staff.
Ensure program expenses are reasonable, allocated as per assigned budget, prudent and spent in accordance with donor rules and regulations to ensure low risk audits. Liaise with local government officials, local communities, donor representatives and other stakeholders as appropriate. Proven ability in the management of large integrated projects in developing countries. Familiarity with the Yambio South Sudan context is a plus. Demonstrated accomplishment in working with host-country professionals, ministries and with donor colleagues in country.
Experience managing sub-receipients and contracts under grants for complex projects. Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:. Familiarity with and commitment to addressing gender equality in project sectors is required, as demonstrated by at least two years of senior-level experience working on projects that addressed gender-related constraints.

The Secretariat primarily focuses on information sharing, networking and capacity enhancement, representation and communication around safety and wellbeing. The Forum was created to discuss issues around programming, humanitarian financing, delivery of humanitarian aid, and access. The NGO Forum provides a scope of services that are provided to its members but these are broadly:. Renewal notifications are usually sent to members in January. This requires completion of the same application form as first-time members. Complete the application form. Await endorsement by the Steering Committee which meet every 2 weeks. Present a brief description of your organisation and it's activities to the monthly Country Directors group, afterwhich membership is voted upon.
In certain circumstances organisations can apply for observer membership which allows for use of the forum services but without having voting rights.
Observer membership applications must be accompanied by a letter explaining the reasons for seeking observer status, which is then reviewed by the Steering Committee.
It exists to ensure that there is effective, and transparent, sharing of information relevant to both its members and external stakeholders. The purpose of the internship is to provide an opportunity for individuals to substantively contribute to and learn from the work of the pre-selected NGOs who will be hosting them. The intern will be given specific tasks and responsibilities and will be challenged to develop their competencies and gain experiences. The intern is expected to be professional, responsible, flexible and to take part in various activities at the office and sometimes in the field.
The NGO secretariat will pre-select NGOs from its membership through a pre-qualification process and each NGO will be allowed to specify the number of interns they wish to host for the 4 months period.
During the 4 months period, interns will be assigned to departments that fit their qualification, area of training and area of interest as expressed in their motivation letter. However where possible an intern can be assigned to more than one department. The departments are organized in two broad areas; 1. We expect applicants to have at least a first degree or diploma from an accredited University or College.
Female applicants are encouraged. We are looking for interns who are committed, diligent, positive, open minded, reflective and willing to learn. Internships are open to only South Sudanese citizens.
